Fort Kniepass is the perfect excursion destination for school classes, but also for all other groups: On the one hand, the KniePASS adventure trail and the exhibition on the subject of "Borders" offer an exciting and educational journey of discovery through history and culture. Guided tour for school classes & children: We conquer the Kniepass!
Together we go on a journey of discovery and explore the secrets of Fort Kniepass! On this guided tour, you will learn all about borders and fortifications in Salzburger Land in a fun way. Secret places, special events and funny stories form the basis for our joint conquest tour. At the end of the tour, we speed down the slide back to the starting point.

Themed tour for adults: What is a fort?
Experience the history of Fort Kniepass on a guided tour. On this guided tour from a historical perspective, you will learn many interesting and exciting details about border fortifications in the province of Salzburg. The history of Fort Kniepass dates back to the 14th century. During the Thirty Years' War, Archbishop Paris Lodron had the Kniepass built into a fortified position. It is still preserved in its original state today.

Exclusive experience for small groups
Action, culture and culinary delights at Fort Kniepass
Explore the controversy of »borders« as you pass through the many adventure trail stations, and find out where you would draw line! The route can be tailored for children or adults. The significance of this former border post is almost tangible, being exuded by the mighty surrounding walls of the fort.
A fort visit and adventure trail walk can be rounded off perfectly with the adrenaline rush of the »Slide Challenge«. The longest and highest tube slide in the Alps promises a lightning descent to the visitor centre – past spectacular lighting and sound effects. Times are taken, and there’s an award ceremony with loud applause at the bottom.
The visit finishes in style with a sophisticated »3-course pasta meal«. The pasta is handmade from ancient grains such as emmer and einkorn, and accompanied by original sauces and regional specialities. A seasonal starter and a refined dessert bookend the meal perfectly. Of course, vegetarian options and pork-free dishes can be booked on request.
